NJTO Endorses Ras Baraka for NJ Governor

Dear NJTO Supporter,
The New Jersey Tenants Organization has endorsed Ras Baraka for Governor of New Jersey. He is running in the Democratic Primary, and we encourage our supporters to vote for him in the primary, if you vote in the Democratic Primary.
Our endorsement of Mayor Baraka is based on his answers to our questions, as are most endorsements, but more importantly, on the positions he has taken and on his record as Mayor of the largest city in New Jersey — Newark.
Back in 2014, we endorsed Ras in his run for Newark Mayor, because, even back then, we recognized him as one of us. We have never regretted that endorsement. Ras Baraka shares NJTO’s values. He is a tenants’ rights advocate. He believes in strong rent control and protection against unfair eviction. He has consistently been on the side of tenants as Mayor of Newark, and he will be on our side as Governor of New Jersey.
